Rustic Furniture

January 19, 2012

It may be putting the cart before the horse, but I made a rustic bench.  Actually, this piece is not for the cabin — Lynne uses it to take her boots (presently, it’s only one boot) off and on.  I took a 4′ log of poplar and sawed down the middle with a chainsaw.  I then used mortis and tenon to attach the legs and supports.  There’s a fancy tool you can buy for this but I opted for a hole saw and large drill bit.   Worked like a charm.

A nice little by product is napkin holders.
